1962   Born in Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Russia

1977-1978   Studied photojournalism and photography at the Public University of Society-Related Professions, Leningrad

1978   Become member of “Zerkalo” (Mirror) photoclub

1983   Received Master of Fine Arts degree from the Department of Cinematic and Photographic Art at the Leningrad Institute of Culture, specializing in photography with final year Thesis: "French 19th Century Photography"

1989   Joined Ligovka group of photographers and organized the Ligovka-99 Exhibition space
